I am an entrepreneur and i am quite proud of my choice for being an entrepreneur. I think my choice is very special, since in Indonesia, being an entrepreneur is not as prestigious as being an employee (both employee for private sector nor government sector).
That’s why Indonesian economy is not as good as it’s surrounding countries.
Most people are rushing to apply to become government employee despite their knowledge that being an employee will not make them rich, well maybe they can become rich but it’ll takes very long time).
In Indonesia, lowest level worker will receive their monthly wage @ about 80US$ per month (undergraduate can earn 3X of that). This situation plus their mental disorder makes government employee tends to be corrputs by misusing their position to gain more money from many bad culprits such as naughty businessmans and even by exploit the regular citizen.
Many people in Indonesia consider being an entrepreneur is full of risks (and i believe this is true) hence they are affraid of being an entrepreneur. This is why i do hate with many Indonesian, who don’t wan’t to take risks but hoping they will be a rich person (Indonesian people are very materialistic). This culprit paradigm has make Indonesia amongst top most corrupt countries in the world.
I want to change this condition, but how? By being an entrepreneur, so i will not become a burden to the national economy. And in fact, if i am successfull, i can make many people benefit from my business.
This is the reason why i i’ll keep struggling.
