Playing RM or RMVB on Linux

Real Media (RM) or Real Media Video Bitrate (RMVB) can’t be played in Linux by default. To be able to play both files, you should install Real Player first. Real Player for Linux can be downloaded from here.

  1. download the installer in .BIN format
  2. Add executable acces by executing
     chmod +x RealPlayer10GOLD.bin
  3. Install Real Player by executing
    sudo ./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin
  4. Follow the instructions
  5. Execute realplay.sh to initiate the application
